We have all had to wait on something and if we are to tell the truth, most of us don’t like waiting. Nowadays, there is a quicker solution to most of the daily activities that once required us to wait. Waiting to check out in the store, no longer necessary thanks to Amazon Prime and online shopping. Waiting for your paycheck so you can go to the bank and cash it, no longer necessary thanks to direct deposit. Waiting for something to show up in the… mail, no longer necessary thanks to email. Waiting to see a loved one’s face because you are separated geographically, no longer necessary thanks to FaceTime, Skype, and many more apps. Waiting to catch up with old friends, no longer necessary thanks to social media…..The wait has been minimized and even negated in so many of our daily activities thanks to technology. But what about the things that technology can’t solve? What about the things that truly require you to wait? To hear clearly from God, to know if your child is going to turn out okay, to have your health restored, to see where life is going to take you when things don’t go as planned. Waiting…it can be downright nerve racking sometimes, it can be frustrating, it can be beautiful. There are some things that no matter what you pour into it, you won’t be able to make it happen in your own strength. During these times it is so important to take the time to learn how to wait in eager anticipation, putting your hope in the Lord. No longer shall we throw a tantrum, complain, or fret. Instead, rejoice, relax… knowing the wait can be lovely if you submit to the process and the Creator.
So do you want to try to win the waiting game or trust in the Lord and his perfect timing?
The choice is truly yours. Win or Lose, God is always sovereign and he knows best.
